I have always used recycled and upcycled surfaces to paint some of my work on, so I am really happy to be able to show some of these canvases in December alongside some really fantastic artist and makers who are all working sustainably in their inspirational maverick ways materials and techniques.
I will also be running a mindful collage workshop at the Dynamite Gallery on Sunday 12th December 2.30 – 4.30 pm book through Eventbrite using the link below – I will be using all reclaimed materials except glue and a bit of paint !!
This painting is pat of a pair made for the window of Gallery 40 in Brighton – and looked rather lush and rain forest inviting as you approached from the top of the road.
The title refers to the refreshing relief that can come with rainfall after humid days or tears falling after emotion has been felt but not expressed – sometimes unexpected – potentially uncomfortable but ultimately cleansing – many layers – pretty optimistic in the end – available with me to be viewed at my studio – contact me at info@katescottpaintings.com
It’s sister painting ‘After I Swam’ will be exhibited at the ‘Out Of The Blue’ Exhibition Regency Town House 13 Brunswick Square, Hove, BN3 1EH where I am so proud to be showing with 20 other artists in this amazing historical building. It will be wonderful – preview 7-9pm Thursday 4th November
Nice image of the studio taken by @davidstaceyart for The Curator’s Salon Magazine – project of @thegitagoshi – one work in progress on the left and one finshed painting ‘Re Entry’ in my converted garage studio in Hove Uk
