This painting is pat of a pair made for the window of Gallery 40 in Brighton – and looked rather lush and rain forest inviting as you approached from the top of the road.
The title refers to the refreshing relief that can come with rainfall after humid days or tears falling after emotion has been felt but not expressed – sometimes unexpected – potentially uncomfortable but ultimately cleansing – many layers – pretty optimistic in the end – available with me to be viewed at my studio – contact me at email@example.com
It’s sister painting ‘After I Swam’ will be exhibited at the ‘Out Of The Blue’ Exhibition Regency Town House 13 Brunswick Square, Hove, BN3 1EH where I am so proud to be showing with 20 other artists in this amazing historical building. It will be wonderful – preview 7-9pm Thursday 4th November
Delivered this painting to one of my best and most long standing and beloved friends (and patrons) yesterday @popkit Kate Helmer ; ‘Before India’ was her favourite when it showed at 2 Knoyle Road , @fivewaysartistsgroup trail ; it has since been exhibited in Cornwall and found its way back to me , I painted it in anticipation of an amazing trip to Mumbai and Goa visiting my daughter ; the colours and smells and fauna have never stopped inspiring me , very happy it’s going to reside with her and her kin in her beautiful home from now on ,I’ve got some perspective now , rather like it !
