I have had a very stressful 10 days working on regaining my Instagram account which has been hacked, it’s very difficult to explain how hard it is to know that unauthorised content is being posted, and private messages sent from someone who is not me – Please accept my apologies for any strange DM’s you may have received in this period – I am working on it, in the meantime you can visit @five_at_no1_rigden_road to https://www.instagram.com/p/CahZ-FJISse/?utm_medium=copy_link see what will be coming up in the pop up I am hosting this year – one weekend in May 20th-22nd – very exciting !!!
Here I am standing outside @gallery40 central Brighton, UK, in October 2021. We were about half way through a happy week during the exhibition ‘Elemental’ with the sculptor Jo Delafons.
This shows the easy bit, when you’ve done all the admin, emailing, label printing, hanging, curating , preview planning and you just have to turn up and receive all the lovely visitors and friends and patrons – which makes it all worth while; the connecting is incredible and grateful making.
So I am at the very early stages of planning for this years shows – so far three collaborations two with @artistsopenhouses during Brighton Festival in May , and one later in the year in Storrington, Sussex.
I will be posting as I make progress mainly on my Instagram page @kate_scott_paintings and doing my best to make time for my own practice in the studio while loving the creative process of working with other artists to bring an exhibition together
Let me know if you would like to be invited to the shows when we are ready to send out invites

The shop window is a magical room set with an upcycled plastic bottle tree
I have four paintings here all made on reclaimed canvases from charity shops – this on ‘The Watermeadows’ is in the window – thrillingly!!
It’s been a wonderful week of showing with this fantastic bunch of 21 artists and makers in this inspiring space – it has been so harmonious and positive and well recieved – one day left – I will be there all day today 12am-4pm The Regency Town House 13 Brunswick Square Hove BN3 1EH
Featuring the art of 21 members from Brightons 7dials Artists and Makers Collective – Preview is Thursday 6-9pm – 13 Brunswick Square, BN3 1EH
This painting is pat of a pair made for the window of Gallery 40 in Brighton – and looked rather lush and rain forest inviting as you approached from the top of the road.
The title refers to the refreshing relief that can come with rainfall after humid days or tears falling after emotion has been felt but not expressed – sometimes unexpected – potentially uncomfortable but ultimately cleansing – many layers – pretty optimistic in the end – available with me to be viewed at my studio – contact me at info@katescottpaintings.com
It’s sister painting ‘After I Swam’ will be exhibited at the ‘Out Of The Blue’ Exhibition Regency Town House 13 Brunswick Square, Hove, BN3 1EH where I am so proud to be showing with 20 other artists in this amazing historical building. It will be wonderful – preview 7-9pm Thursday 4th November
